The Sterling Town Clerk is elected by the voters for a four-year term and serves as the Recorder of Deeds and Registrar of Vital Statistics.
The Town Clerk provides a wide range of services including, but not limited to, recording land and vital records, issuing all sport licenses and deer/turkey tags, dog licenses, Marriage licenses, vendor permits, Liquor permits and Trade Name Certificates. We also issue Absentee Ballots, register voters, record and index Military Discharges.
The Town Clerk appoints his/her assistant who shall, in the absence or inability of the Town Clerk, have all the powers and perform all the duties of the Town Clerk.
