Town of Sterling

Special Town Meeting

Electors and citizens qualified to vote at Town Meetings of the Town of Sterling are hereby warned to meet on Wednesday July 14, 2010 at the Sterling Town Hall/Municipal Building Gym, 1183 Plainfield Pike, Oneco, CT at 7:00 p.m. for the following purposes:

Item 1. Shall the Town enter into a “Regional Revaluation Contract,” such contract to be executed by the Town, the towns of Ashford, Brooklyn, Canterbury, Eastford, Killingly, Plainfield, Pomfret, Putnam, Thompson, Union and Woodstock (the “Participating Towns”), Tyler Technologies/CLT Division and the Northeast Connecticut Council of Governments (“NECCOG”) in order to establish an approximately five (5) year regional revaluation program, as provided for in Section 12-62q of the Connecticut General Statutes?

Item 2. Shall the Town enter into an “Agreement Regarding Services Related to Regional Revaluation Contract,” such agreement to be executed by the Town and NECCOG, by which NECCOG will act as the Town and the participating Towns’ coordinating agency for implementation of the regional revaluation program described in item #1 above, as provided for in Section 12-62q of the Connecticut General Statutes?

Item #3. Shall the Town adopt an ordinance entitled “An Ordinance Providing for Publication Summary Notices of Ordinances”?

Item #4. Shall the Town adopt an ordinance entitled “An Ordinance Regarding the Offices of Town Clerk, Treasurer, and Tax Collector”?

Copies of the above contracts and ordinances are available for review in the Office of the Town Clerk or Selectmen’s Office during normal business hours.
